About the Job:

Reporting to our CFO, the TPA Staff Accountant – Treasury will manage the financial operations related to healthcare benefit plans, working with our third-party administrator (TPA) to automate tasks, increase efficiencies, and ensure accuracy. They will work closely with the internal finance & accounting and account management teams to provide accounting services, including facilitating claims processing, paying premiums, reconciling bank statements, producing standard monthly reporting, and assets transfer, as needed. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and maintain of client claim payment accounts
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage client banking and funding for provider claim payments and premium payments, including oversight of these accounts to ensure adequate funding
  • Research and review and uncashed payments to providers and members
  • Track banking fees to optimize costs
  • Weekly and monthly cash forecasting
  • Standard monthly reporting (client remittances/client special reports) using accounting / billing data
  • Track and update regular assets transfers throughout the year
  • Identify and recommend enhanced processes and controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

Experience:

  • 3+ years in treasury, corporate accounting / finance, or banking operations with strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience working in a third-party administrator (TPA) or third-party financial administrator setting is preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with VBA or other benefits administration software strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and attention-to-detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external vendor partners
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments
