The Test Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical and optical test processes for semiconductor laser devices within a high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role ensures product performance, yield, and reliability meet customer and internal requirements.  The engineer works cross‑functionally with Process Engineering, Process Integration, Quality, and Operations to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate electrical/optical test methods for laser diodes and other photonic devices.
  • Define test plans, measurement conditions, and data structures for technology development and new product introductions.
  • Characterize device performance including L-I-V curves, threshold current, slope efficiency, wavelength, spectrum, beam quality, and polarization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor test, photonics, or laser diodes.
  • Understanding of laser diode physics, optoelectronic measurement methods, and semiconductor device behavior.
  • Proficiency in programming or automation (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of reliability testing (HTOL, TC, HAST, WHTOL) for optoelectronic components.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $100,000 – 140,000USD.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
