We are continuously accepting applicationsThe Test Engineer II is part of the North American Robotics Testing Team (NARTT), an agile cross- functional team focused on testing and verification of robotic lawnmowers designed to disrupt the future of lawn care in North America. We engage in a range of tasks surrounding NPD and product improvement projects. Our team interfaces closely with the other robotics business disciplines as well as our engineering counter parts in Sweden.
The primary functions of this role are to plan and execute tests on robotic lawn mowers which includes creation and modification of test procedures and test equipment, coordinate execution of tests between NARTT and other test labs, verify test results, and provide recommendations to design engineering.
What You will do:
Develop test plans and schedules based on DVPnR. This includes monitoring progress and updating JIRA dashboards to provide visibility to management.
Actively participate in the cross-functional product development team providing input to FMEAs and test plans, and report test status and results to the team.
Ensure test plans (DVP&R) provide adequate confidence that the product tested will be reliable, safe, and meet the customer’s needs. Includes ability to identify edge cases
Collaborate closely with international design and test engineering teams.
Development of test equipment to validate design criteria.
Train and lead Test Technicians in test methods and use of test equipment to complete product validation testing.
Review and analyze test results to ensure accuracy.
Develop benchmarking plans for competitor equipment.
Actively participate in and support field testing of robotic mowers. Some outdoor work is required. This includes managing home test mowers and mowers at test sites.
Operate with a high degree of independence, transparency, and integrity.
What We Are Looking For:
Prior experience as an advanced level test engineer, including creating and executing test plans for consumer product testing and or software regression testing.
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or other related engineering discipline, or 10+ years relevant experience with proven growth.
Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in relevant tools (Excel, Matlab, etc…)
Experience with data acquisition software (Somat, Edaq, LabView, or similar).
Experience with electrical measuring equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, etc…)
Experience working with and troubleshooting robotic equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge of test equipment and reliability engineering methodology
Proficiency in MS Office software applications and MS Teams a must.
Ability to travel to domestic locations as required to support testing. Up to 20%
Demonstrated knowledge of FMEA principals and DVP&R methodology required
Detail orientated and ability to share knowledge with team through written and verbal communication.
Experience with the following preferred:
Regulatory agency test methods and requirements (UL, CSA, etc)
ISO, ANSI, and UL requirements related to test methods and calibration of measuring devices.
