Job Description
Experienced Technical Manual Writer will be responsible for creating templates, gathering, organizing, editing and writing project-specific technical materials for purposes of authoring and producing technical documentation and training materials for military electronic systems. Included are technical specifications, reports, test procedures, spreadsheets, as well as project or engineering presentations, system/subsystem/support equipment technical manuals, Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), engineering-level documents, end user Quick Reference Guides.
Must have demonstrated ability to edit, or produce text or graphical materials in a highly professional format, author original technical material from review of engineering drawings and discussions. Must be able to prepare detailed system/subsystem troubleshooting diagrams and text, including Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs).
Must be able to work independently to gather data from Subject Matter Experts and convert that data into comprehensive materials, with strong focus on consistent, clear, and logical flow of material and correct use of grammar.
Must possess advanced-level knowledge and competency in document publishing process and publishing tools, specifically Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Able to troubleshoot document or template issues. Must have familiarity with Microsoft Visio and Excel.

Minimum of five years of technical writing experience in military electronics, engineering or high technology environment.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $142205 - $241749
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
