Xylem is seeking a Technical Training Specialist to design, develop, and deliver high-impact technical training programs focused on hydronic and HVAC systems, including pumps, controls, and system design and operation. This role plays a critical part in building technical confidence and competency across customers, channel partners, and internal sales and support teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in hydronic and HVAC applications and excels at translating complex system concepts into engaging, practical learning experiences. This role supports consistent, high-quality training delivery that drives proper system application, product adoption, and long-term customer success across multiple channels.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs for internal teams, channel partners, and end customers, including multi-day, in-person training events.
Deliver training primarily at Xylem’s training facility in the Chicago metro area, as well as at customer, partner, and regional locations as needed.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, sales, and marketing to gather requirements and ensure training content aligns with product strategy and customer needs.
Create, update, and manage training content across internal and external learning platforms, including LMS environments.
Coordinate logistics and scheduling for training events, including calendars, attendee tracking, and on-site support.
Collect, analyze, and summarize training feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
Monitor the performance and effectiveness of existing training programs and help develop strategies to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
Develop and maintain process documentation for education and training team workflows and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, engineering, training, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
3–5 years of experience designing and delivering technical training to diverse audiences, including external customers and channel partners.
Proven experience facilitating in-person technical training, including hands-on or lab-based instruction.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and CVent
Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning content development tools.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate training.
Ability to build strong working relationships with sales teams, channel partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Willingness to travel up to 50% to support training delivery across multiple locations; travel requirement is primarily for those located outside of the Morton Grove, IL area
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with water systems, including pumps, hydronic and steam system design, operation, and troubleshooting.
Experience with instructional design tools such as Articulate 360 (preferred, not required).
Background supporting technical training within industrial, mechanical, HVAC, or building systems environments.

The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
