The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving aftermarket sales and providing technical service support for Nordson Industrial Coating Systems customers within an assigned territory in Georgia. This role serves as a trusted customer partner by identifying application needs, recommending solutions, supporting equipment performance, and promoting Nordson products, parts, services, and small booth systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as Nordson’s primary representative for assigned customers by identifying needs, providing technical guidance, and recommending solutions that support customer operations.
  • Sell powder application equipment, wear parts, service products, aftermarket components, and small booth systems within the assigned territory.
  • Demonstrate equipment for customer evaluation and support payback analysis for proposed equipment solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals, and quotations that clearly communicate customer value.
  • Evaluate field applications and provide recommendations to improve equipment performance, process reliability, and operating efficiency.
  • Build relationships with allied vendors, business organizations, and customer stakeholders to support sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training support as an application expert for customers and internal team members.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Nordson products, pricing, policies, and procedures, and consistently follow established company guidelines.
  • Apply knowledge of finishing and coating processes to recommend the most effective products and solutions for customer applications.
  • Provide timely technical support during urgent customer situations, working with maintenance teams on site or by phone to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Education:

A minimum of a two-year technical degree with two years of related industry experience, or a four-year business degree, is required. In lieu of a degree, six years of industrial sales or service experience is required.

Experience:

A minimum of two years of successful experience in industrial finishing sales or service is required. Experience in the finishing industry, capital equipment, or a closely related field is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proven ability to sell technical products and solutions in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to service Nordson application equipment and booth systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly to customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical systems, and powder coating applications.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings.

Field position. This role requires the ability to perform the essential duties of the position in a field-based environment. TRAVEL REQUIRED

Estimated 50–75%; approximately 2 to 3 nights per week on average.
