WHO WE ARE
Lindblad Expeditions is a pioneer in the Expedition Travel space, with a legacy of exploration and discovery spanning decades. From taking the first citizen explorers to Antarctica in 1966, to opening the Galápagos and Easter Island to tourism, to launching our innovative partnership with National Geographic in 2004, our mission has always been to connect travelers with the world’s most extraordinary places.

Today, our fleet of 16 ships takes nearly 25,000 guests annually to some of the planet’s most remote and pristine locations. At Lindblad Expeditions, we do whatever it takes to ensure our guests experience the “Exhilaration of Discovery.”

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Project Manager plays a key role in supporting the reliability, safety, and long-term sustainability of Lindblad Expeditions’ fleet. Working within a collaborative and hands-on operational culture, this role manages technical initiatives that improve vessel performance, modernize onboard systems, and strengthen our ability to deliver world-class expedition experiences. The Technical Project Manager partners closely with shipboard teams, shoreside leadership, and external vendors—including shipyards and superintendents—to deliver projects that meet strict maritime standards while honoring Lindblad’s commitment to responsible travel and environmental stewardship.
This role calls for a resourceful, solutions-oriented leader who is comfortable working across diverse environments—from office settings to shipyard decks—and who can translate technical requirements into actionable plans that support our fleet, our people, and our guests.

  • Communicate project updates in a clear, concise way suited to Lindblad’s hands-on, field-oriented culture.

  • Support shipboard engineering teams with technical guidance, documentation, and troubleshooting during project execution.
  • 4. Innovation, Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement (15%)
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, reduce environmental impact, and enhance the guest experience through technical solutions.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and contribute improvements to Lindblad’s project governance and fleet maintenance processes.
  • Bring forward creative, practical solutions suitable for small-ship, often remote operations with tight turnaround windows.
  • Support efforts to implement technologies and operational changes that strengthen Lindblad’s leadership in sustainable expedition travel.
  • 5. Compliance, Reporting & Data Integrity (10%)
  • Ensure all technical work complies with USCG, class society, flag state, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate project records, budgets, and schedules in company systems.
  • Support audit readiness and documentation required for inspections, regulatory filings, and internal reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of technical documentation and maintenance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
