About the Role

Supernova is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead release management for our Data Technology team. This pivotal role centers on defining release scope, building and maintaining release plans, and adapting our internal release tooling to strengthen the release pipeline across our SaaS platform environment. The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical project management with a solid understanding of software delivery, ensuring every release moves from planning to production smoothly and predictably.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end release management process for the Data Technology team, from release planning through deployment and post-release review.
  • Define and manage release scope, working with engineering leads and product management to prioritize features, fixes, and technical work included in each release.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed release plans and schedules, coordinating dependencies across cross-functional teams and tracking progress against release milestones.
  • Adapt and enhance our internal release tool to build a more automated, reliable release pipeline, partnering with engineering to identify gaps and implement improvements.
  • Identify and manage release dependencies, risks, and critical paths, adjusting plans as needed to protect release dates and quality.
  • Coordinate release readiness activities, including code freeze, testing sign-off, deployment checklists, and rollback planning.
  • Provide regular updates on release status, blockers, and risks to stakeholders, with clear plans to address issues as they surface.
  • Lead release retrospectives and champion continuous improvement, incorporating learnings into future release cycles and pipeline enhancements.
  • Utilize knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS, to communicate effectively with technical teams on deployment and pipeline requirements.
  • Foster a team environment that promotes collaboration, open communication, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of technical project management experience in a technology or SaaS company, with direct experience in release management or software delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven track record managing releases or deployments in a cloud environment; AWS familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience working with release tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or deployment automation; experience adapting or improving internal tools is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple releases with varied timelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under tight deadlines.
