What you will do:  

The Technical Project Manager II will primarily contribute to the company’s progress by tracking and shepherding development projects, including interacting with internal and external collaborators to ensure accurate timeline and resource reporting. At any given time, multiple projects may be in progress and require attention. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Ability to align team members and projects using charters to define scope of work and responsibilities   
  • Synthesizing discussions of current and upcoming work into timelines of activities 
  • Continuously checking in on active timelines to ensure accuracy and escalating deviations, as necessary 
  • Using technical knowledge to ask probing questions of project engineers and fully understand the requirements of projects  
  • Developing relationships with project engineers and adjusting exact project management techniques to best suit individual needs 
  • Making recommendations for de-risking crucial tasks and/or parallelizing workstreams where possible 
  • Communicating project status information through in-person meetings as well as digital reports  
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects to completion while gathering feedback and continuing to improve the project management process   
  • Support project work directly if priorities and technical skillset align 
  • Other duties as assigned  

What we need you to bring to the team:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, computer science or related field of study; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience  
  • 2+ years of project management experience 
  • Fundamental knowledge of project management methodologies, including critical path analysis  
  • Ability to capture and maintain a high volume of detailed information  
  • Basic knowledge of engineering design, concepts, principles, practices, and procedures  
  • Ability to work on problems of moderate scope, which are often varied and routine, where the analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors 
  • Ability to apply learned techniques and contributes to the analysis and investigation to solve problems 
  • Ability to work independently receives little instruction on day-to-day work  
  • Strong ability to build internal and external working relationships to solve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures 
  • Strong organizational skills  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project 
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment 

 

Compensation:   

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
