🚀 Build the future of employee leave

We’re bringing much needed simplicity to the complex world of employee leave. Today, the process is baffling: going on leave (be it parental, medical, bereavement, or for any other reason) means talking to reps and wading through a mountain of government and insurance claims just to get your time off and income in moments when you're the most stressed and busy. We talked to hundreds of employees and employers who had nightmare stories to tell, and wondered to ourselves why nobody had solved this yet.

Our mission is to empower every working person to take care of the important things in life when it matters most — removing all of the friction that exists today for both employees and employers — and be the #1 advocate for folks going through the process. It's a really exciting space, and we're moving incredibly fast on both product and user momentum.

Excited about taking the most frustrating processes companies and employees face and making it surprisingly delightful? We'd love to work with you.

 💪🏽 What will you do?

As the first Technical Program Manager at Cocoon, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we plan, align, and deliver cross-functional initiatives. You’ll partner with engineering, product, design, and GTM teams to bring clarity, focus, and execution excellence to some of our most important partnership initiatives. In this role you will:

  • Lead highly cross-functional programs, using strong TPM craft and collaboration skills to deliver complex initiatives
  • Drive project alignment by managing dependencies, guiding technical discussions, and making sure the right conversations happen at the right time
  • Anticipate risks and blockers, escalate when needed, and keep momentum toward resolution
  • Influence outcomes by building trusted, strong partnerships across the organization
  • Champion effective ways of working including finding the right balance of tools, structure & practices while continuously improving how we collaborate and deliver on our commitments

 ⚡️ You'd be a great fit if:

  • You've managed technical programs and are comfortable getting into the details of a technical product.
  • You've helped technical stakeholders understand project timelines, trade-offs, and confidently navigate the complexity of partnership programs in a fast-evolving space.
  • You've started something before: a process, a team initiative, a side project; anything that shows you're a builder at heart.
  • You're naturally curious and intrinsically motivated. You like figuring things out, and you like helping others do the same. You learn fast and move fast.
  • You take feedback well, act on it quickly, and want to be part of building something from the ground up. We are a high confidence, low ego team.
  • You have strong communication skills: clear writing, calm presence on calls, and an ability to explain complex things simply.
  • You have experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and technical dependencies.

Nice to Have

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in parallel, even better if you've already built your own project tracking systems.
  • Technical background

🎁 Some benefits you can expect as a part of the Cocoon team:

  • Competitive, transparent salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Unlimited vacation and sick time
  • Professional development budget
  • Office setup and wellness stipends
  • Team offsites, social programs and more!

The expected base compensation for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 dependent on level. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity and benefits.
At Cocoon, we believe that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging serve as the foundation for a successful team, product, and community. We’re committed to building a company where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work and be set up for success. Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce requires ongoing effort and attention. We are committed to cultivating space for feedback and expanding our understanding of DEIB as our community grows.
