About the role

At Thatch, we’re on a mission to build a healthcare system people love. We’re taking a unique approach in a legacy space, with backing from some of the world’s top investors (a16z, Google Ventures, General Catalyst) and a team of early employees from companies like Stripe, Rippling, Ramp, Brex, and Shopify.

Changing the system means rethinking the old ways of doing things — including how our own teams operate. We believe artificial intelligence will radically transform how we work, and we’re hiring a Technical Program Manager to accelerate that transformation.

As our first TPM, you’ll own AI strategy and implementation across Thatch. This role is equal parts strategic and hands-on: you’ll work in an extremely cross-functional capacity, identifying where AI can improve our workflows, testing tools, managing rollouts, training teams, and measuring adoption and impact. You’ll report directly to the President and collaborate across every function, from legal, sales, and support to engineering and product.

This is a rare opportunity to define what “AI-native” means at a high-growth startup. It’s a uniquely high-leverage role that’ll impact nearly every part of our business.

What you'll do
  • Analyze internal workflows across teams to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI tooling and automation.
  • Define and execute a company-wide AI strategy, in partnership with team leads and execs.
  • Research, pilot, and implement AI tools that boost productivity, quality, and velocity.
  • Build and run training programs to drive adoption and upskill teammates.
  • Measure and track the impact of AI initiatives, refining the strategy over time.
Background we're looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management or product operations at a fast-paced tech company.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives from 0→1.
  • Strong familiarity with modern AI tools, platforms, and their application in business workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • Hands-on experience implementing generative AI tools inside an organization, with a strong personal interest in the space.
  • Background in product management, engineering, or technical operations.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • A clear point of view on where AI is headed — and how to apply it thoughtfully.
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly — the entire interview process is typically complete within 2 weeks.
