What You'll Do:
SambaSafety is looking for a Product Owner to join our ERP team focused on delivering ERP and financial systems and integration solutions to our customers. You will be part of a balanced team consisting of product and engineering. You must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, the ability to maintain a big-picture vision, and the drive to make a vision reality. You must enjoy spending time with our internal customers to understand their problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
- Lead the product development lifecycle with a balanced software development team
- Actively manage the execution and delivery of feature and product development
- Lead regular planning meetings to support feature and product development
- Determine priority of work for team execution based on value, quality, and urgency
- Build understanding of customer's needs and workflows to help build out product roadmaps
- Proactively engage with internal stakeholders across all departments to identify opportunities to delight our customers
- Constantly re-evaluate the product backlog to ensure alignment with product strategy and business objectives
- Build rapport with multiple colleagues across the entire organization
- Anticipate and communicate requirements and constraints that impact delivery
- Craft unambiguous and concise user stories for weekly work (experience with gherkin a plus)
- Maintain a backlog of ready to work epics and user stories
- Communicate product solutions and value internally and externally
- Collaborate with architects to assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and tools to identify opportunities for innovation and advancement. Conduct feasibility studies and make informed recommendations on technology adoption or migration.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, executives, and clients. Clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Conduct research and experimentation to drive innovation and propose cutting-edge solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of product systems and solutions. Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Collaborate with external vendors, partners, or consultants to ensure successful integration of third-party solutions or services into the overall product(s).
- Provide product leadership and mentoring to team members
- Guide software development release cycle across multiple products
- Develop best practices to ensure software functionality, usability, reliability, and availability
- Work with product management to produce enjoyable experiences for customers
- This position involves Mid and End of Month financials processing and some travel to various company locations.
What You'll Need:
- Experience working in an Agile Lean product organization
- Strong experience with ERP and financial systems and integration
- Comfortable working in a Kanban environment
- Ability to move fast but maintain a customer-first and quality mindset
- Someone who is comfortable with and embraces ambiguity and problem solving
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and quick-changing environment
- Ability to communicate feature updates and risks professionally and effectively
- 2+ years of software product owner or related experience
- B2B SaaS software experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, CS or CIS a strong plus
- 4-5 Years of ERP and Financial Systems and Integration experience (e.g., Zuora, NetSuite)
