MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Abbott Diabetes Care is looking for a leader to build and direct a department responsible for managing a portfolio of business managed systems and applications intended to enable the design and development of our physical and software products.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains productive relationships with vendors, technical leadership, and senior leadership in order to form and implement an IT strategy for a business area
- Balances competing priorities, as well as navigates and influences the broader technology organization.
- Develops diverse talent and assembles a highly effective [remote] team, inspiring those in the organization to do the best work possible and move the organization forward
- Able to drive teams to action while working both within the constraints of medical device regulation, and within a highly matrixed environment with cross-functional inputs and stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of / experience with research, design and development systems / applications / platforms
- Directs managers and their teams
- Works with cross-functional R&D and IT leaders on alignment of business goals and needs with technology requirements and roles
- Creates and implements strategies and operating models for acquisition and management of IT solutions in accordance with business policies including IT, Quality, R&D, Cybersecurity, and Procurement
- Identifies and evaluate disruptive threats and opportunities and drive technology investments based on existing and planned use cases, trend analysis, market disruptions and strategic alignment
- Develops and manages system roadmaps through identification and analysis of business capability needs and technology requirements; aligns business goals and needs with technology requirements and roadmaps
- Inspires trust and confidence in partners through strategic and diplomatic handling of relationships with senior business, IT, and vendor leadership with the goal of building, planning, assessing, and prioritizing service related initiatives
- Ensures successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects, and overall support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or similar; (± 13 years), Minimum 7 years experience
- Highly experienced in IT team management
- Experience in operationalizing IT strategies with governance, supply chain, and workload placement and prioritization as core capabilities
- Well-developed relationship management capabilities; ability to build strong internal and external networks
PREFERRED
- Experience leading and IT supply chain management function
- Experience leading systems implementations and/or implementation teams
- In-depth knowledge of systems supporting research and development of medical devices
- Experience with identifying and implementing security privacy requirements within systems and applications
- Familiarity with computer systems validation
- Experience navigating IT audits for security and compliance
The base pay for this position is
$147,300.00 – $294,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
