​You will directly own a portion of the full development life cycle within Risepoint’s Marketing Technology products to support online degree programs for our partner universities. You will become a Subject Matter Expert for internal applications and process, along with working as a liaison between business partners and the application development/business operations teams. Candidates should have strong knowledge of marketing data standards and web technologies and be prepared to support the ongoing Agile management of products and projects.

The Product Owner should be proficient in understanding, documenting, and supporting existing business processes and systems, along with recommending potential improvements and assisting users in designing solutions.

  • Lead efforts, as business needs evolve, to optimize the use of marketing technology to support business operations, lead flow, and reporting.

  • Embrace ownership of data—how we get it, what data we get, its accuracy, timeliness, and how it can be improved to improve our business.

  • Establish a roadmap for the long-term improvement of supported products, applications, and processes.

  • Able to work independently to analyze system performance, data integrity, and metadata information.

  • Gather, research, and define requirements from business owners and translate business needs into solutions/system design.

  • Leverage stakeholder insights and business objectives when establishing requirements and translating them into goals for development and analysis teams.

  • Explain marketing/data concepts, development techniques, and results in non-technical terms.

  • Translate end-user requirements into complex technical specifications.

  • Work with architects and Engineering teams to set the vision for the solutions and build a roadmap to successful implementation.

  • Collaborate with team members to identify needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Work with design team to analyze and clarify requirements for projects.

  • Assist business owners in prioritizing requirements and system enhancements.

  • Work with the quality assurance team to ensure deliverables are properly tested and meet requirements.

  • Investigate defects and work with the scrum team to resolve them as per the assigned priority.

  • Conduct gap analyses to determine areas for business opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain project documentation for system development/enhancement.

  • Work with Scrum Masters to ensure sprint plans align with expectations for timely delivery of work product.

  • Responsible for flagging the timing of cross-functional deliverables and determining the quality of their output.

  • Maintain product consistency and respond to design issues throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Build and maintain business relationships vital to the success of projects.

  • Develop product roadmap based on future technology, business expectations and needs.

  • Support day-to-day operations and ensure business issues are handled promptly.

  • Provide mentorship to peers and junior resources.

Qualifications Include: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of product management and/or business analysis experience, preferably within a marketing technology environment.

  • Strong analytic skills with experience analyzing complex systems.

  • Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.

  • Good understanding of data architecture.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience analyzing complex systems; excellent problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills are a must.

  • Detail-oriented concerning documentation and communication; able to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to business partners.

  • Strong relationship building skills; comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business.

  • Good listening skills, with the ability to uncover underlying needs.

  • Must have a desire to achieve excellent project outcomes and exceed stakeholder expectations.

  • Works independently with limited supervision, coordinating projects to closure.

  • Must have experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies. (Waterfall, Iterative, AGILE)
