  • Serve as the senior tax expert for high-priority clients, offering insights that strengthen long-term relationships
  • Develop and implement scalable operational processes to improve tax delivery efficiency and consistency
  • Monitor and optimize team performance using KPIs and metrics such as throughput, quality, and time-to-file
  • Build integrated workflows with fintech and accounting teams to deliver a seamless embedded tax solution
  • Translate capacity, complexity, and workload data into actionable staffing and workflow decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement through the creation of standardized playbooks and quality control measures
  • Cultivate a team culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and exceptional Pro service
  • Support acquisition and retention efforts by ensuring every Pro feels confident and cared for in their tax experience
Qualifications:
  • 5–7+ years of experience in tax preparation, filing, and advisory services, with strong knowledge of small business tax needs
  • Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with active licensure
  • 3-5+ years of proven experience managing and scaling high-performing tax teams
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax codes and compliance frameworks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience using Drake or similar tax software platforms (i.e. Drake, ProConnect, UltraTax)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to explain complex tax concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience designing or managing operational workflows, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
What will help you succeed in this role:
  • Strong operational leadership with a track record of building, mentoring, and enabling high-performing teams
  • Ability to design and interpret capacity models, performance dashboards, and tax complexity scoring systems
  • Strategic thinker who excels in ambiguity and can derive actionable insights
  • Familiarity with working cross-functionally with engineering or product teams on tax-related features or tooling
  • Experience supporting home service professionals, contractors, or similar customer segments
  • Detail-oriented and proactive; always seeking ways to improve service delivery and reduce risk
  • Personable, trustworthy, and approachable — able to inspire confidence from team members and Pros alike
