Job Summary

We are looking for a Tax Senior Manager to join our Financial Services Practice group. This candidate will consult on complex tax matters and oversee the tax compliance process for financial institutions and financial services companies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.  Tasks will include business development, leading a team, advising, researching and identifying tax issues, providing solutions to technical tax matters and engagement management. The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for training, motivating, developing and reviewing the work of their team. We see this role as a future leader in our firm and are looking for someone motivated to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and sustaining excellent customer relationships, owning the relationship end-to-end
  • Being anticipatory and consulting on various tax matters
  • Performing technical reviews of income tax accounting, ASC 740, computations and reporting requirements
  • Collaborating cross-functionally within the firm to grow existing business and offer a variety of business solutions to customers and prospects
  • Developing and growing a business network with colleagues, referral relationships, potential customers, and external organizations to attract new business
  • Continuously improving specialty area knowledge and professional development
  • Holding yourself and others accountable for business development goals
  • Recruiting, developing, and motivating team members, creating pools of ready-now leaders
  • Setting and achieving stretch goals on a regular basis that increases your value and contribution to the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Law; Master’s degree in Tax/LLM in Tax, preferred
  • 7+ years of recent public accounting firm experience
  • Strong experience with corporate tax accounting, ASC 740 preferred
  • CPA certification, required
  • Leadership and project/team management skills
  • Excellent communication and networking acumen
  • Ability to manage and grow strong customer relationships
  • Strong experience with corporate tax accounting, ASC 740 preferred
  • Experience with tax software and technology
  • Ability to multitask along with demonstration of commitment to continuous learning
