Workrise is hiring a skilled and passionate Tax Manager who will be responsible for all tax matters, such as planning, legal entity optimization, supporting M&A and other transactions tax accounting and provision, indirect taxes U.S. federal, state and International income tax compliance. Our ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has experience and desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, experience with transformational accounting processes and a drive to be continually learning. Our ideal candidate for this role will be someone who communicates effectively, manages multiple tasks and deadlines, and exercises a high level of integrity and work ethic. This role is exempt and will report to the VP, Accounting.

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage income tax return compliance (Federal, state and International) , and review tax returns including extensions and estimated payments for completeness and accuracy
  • Managing the preparation of the worldwide income tax provisions under ASC 740 for Workrise's legal entities including supporting workpapers, journal entries, and audit deliverables
  • Manage the review, filing, and remittance of sales and use tax across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
  • Identification and implementation of tax accounting and compliance process improvements
  • Coordinate with the company's foreign operations on tax matters related to their operations (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, etc.)
  • Research appropriate tax accounting treatment for complex tax matters and proactively identify tax reporting and disclosure in the financial statements
  • Proactively identify and research opportunities for tax optimization and tax savings
  • Effectively communicate with senior management regarding tax financial reporting implications of key transactions, operations, new projects, and legislative changes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders (auditors, advisors etc.)
  • Work closely with cross functional partners on tax considerations in contracts, financial modeling, and budgeting

What you should have:
  • Position requires an individual with 6-7 years of corporate tax experience
  • 2+ years experience in direct people management
  • Deep ASC 740 experience
  • A solid understanding of corporate tax concepts applicable to domestic and foreign operations
  • Familiarity with indirect tax systems and tools (e.g., OneSource)
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive results
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment

Nice to haves:
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
