About the opportunity:
Shutterstock is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing U.S. federal, state, and international tax matters. As a key player in our Finance team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, HR, Product, and Technology teams to drive efficiency and ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations.

The day to day:

Overall responsibility for supporting the US Federal, State, and International tax matters in the following areas:

  • ASC 740 tax provision preparation on a quarterly and annual basis, including FIN 48, tax account reconciliations, and tax accounting for international taxation (such as BEAT/FDII/GILTI/Subpart-f and transfer pricing arrangements) 

  • Assist in the preparation and review of the US Federal and State income and sales tax return filings 

  • Support the US Federal and Foreign R&D tax credit processes

  • Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX 404) compliance process and ensure an effective tax control environment

  • Manage and work with local foreign teams to ensure timely filing of foreign income tax returns.

  • Manage, investigate, and resolve any tax authority notifications 

  • Maintain the worldwide tax calendar to ensure timely payments and filings 

  • Identify, research and evaluate opportunities for the better application of technology to the tax function to streamline workflows, enhance analytics and improve output quality

  • Cross functional collaboration among members of the Finance, Legal, HR, Product, and Technology teams

  • Assist with all aspects of data gathering and analytics in support of the tax planning, transfer pricing, and audit functions and other special projects

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years in combination of public accounting and industry/corporate (preferably U.S. based SEC reporting company) and BIG 4, with working experience in all of the above areas

  • Excellent, demonstrable tax technical skills, particularly with a US Multinational corporation handling U.S. Federal/SALT and International taxation (experience with a technology company a plus!)  

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented with excellent organization and project management skills; process-driven with the ability to multitask

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills

  • Minimum Education; BS Degree in Accounting, MS in Tax and/or CPA

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.
 
The pay range for this position is below:

    • 135,000 - 150,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
