Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and oversee State & Local Tax (SALT) compliance activities, with a focus on location strategies and structuring. This individual will serve as a key resource on compliance and consulting engagements, and will play a critical role in identifying new opportunities to deliver value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and review SALT compliance projects across multiple clients and industries

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying and implementing tax planning and savings strategies tailored to client needs

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service and strategic insight

  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of team members within a collaborative, high-performance environment

  • Research and provide guidance on complex state and local tax issues

  • Identify and pursue additional SALT consulting opportunities within the existing client base

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with firm quality standards

  • Utilize leading tax technology platforms to enhance efficiency and insight

Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting required

  • Minimum of 5+ years of State & Local Tax experience - preferably in public accounting

  • CPA or JD required

  • Ability to manage and grow strong client relationships

  • Effective writing, communication and tax research skills

  • Advanced degrees or certifications are preferred

  • Proven project and staff management preferred

  • Experience with tax technology a plus

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $96,500.00 - $228,500.00 per year.
