Overview

CoinTracker is on a mission to unlock everyone's financial potential so they can build the life they want. We started with crypto, building the tax and portfolio tools that millions of users trust to trade digital assets with peace of mind. Nino builds the next layer of financial fluency for our users. Nino is an AI-powered financial operating system that makes comprehensive, expert-level tax and financial planning advice accessible.

More on Nino: Comprehensive tax and financial planning strategies are currently locked behind high AUM fees or require enough wealth to have a family office. We are turning expert judgment into software so we can serve millions. AI is going to redefine how people understand their finances and how tax advice gets delivered. Not in ten years, in 2026. You can help define that, or spend the next few years adapting to rules someone else wrote. Nino sits inside CoinTracker ($100M raised, partnered with Coinbase, TurboTax, H&R Block, and Thomson Reuters) with the autonomy of an early-stage startup and the reach of an established platform.

Your mission

Give everyone access to tax advice usually reserved for the 1%.

Your one-year outcomes
  • You are the strategic tax planning partner for a book of HNW and equity-heavy clients. They act on your recommendations through liquidity events, exercises, secondaries, and multi-year planning windows, and they renew and refer.

  • You are the team's resident equity-comp expert. Every ISO, NSO, RSU, ESPP, QSBS, AMT, and 83(b) edge case in the company routes to you and gets resolved with a defensible position and a plain-language explanation the client can act on.

  • Returns across your book are filed cleanly and on time, with zero critical errors.

  • You have shipped reusable checklists, decision trees, and threshold specs that the team adopts and the Tax Brain encodes. The next client with the same problem gets a faster, better answer because of your work.

What you will do
  • Advise a book of HNW clients year-round. Verify AI output and turn platform insights into recommendations they actually act on.

  • Own equity comp strategy: ISO/NSO/RSU/ESPP, AMT, 83(b), QSBS, 409A, secondaries, IPO and liquidity events. Model the multi-year impact and explain the trade-offs in plain language.

  • Build the Tax Brain with product and engineering. Convert your judgment into if/then logic, review AI-generated advice, and encode the corrections.

  • Solve the edge cases the software cannot yet: multi-state allocation, wash sales, pass-through optimization, ambiguous scenarios that need primary-source research.

  • Prepare, review, and file returns for your book, with filing infrastructure behind you so it is not the bottleneck on your time.

What we look for
  • Role-agnostic

    • Opportunity Alignment: Genuine conviction about our mission, the opportunity we're going after, or the technical problems we're solving.

    • High Agency: You identify what matters, take it on, and own outcomes.

    • Exceptional Collaboration: Build high-trust partnerships that make team members want you on hard projects.

    • Critical Thinking: Find the real question beneath the surface one, weigh alternatives, and show clear judgment under uncertainty.

    Required

    • Active CPA license and 4+ years of individual tax experience.

    • Genuine depth on equity compensation for both private- and public-company employees. You can defend a position on ISO/AMT, QSBS eligibility, or an 83(b) miss without reaching for the software.

    • Experience serving HNW clients ($1M to $25M net worth), ideally tech employees, founders, or executives with equity.

    • Logic-driven and tech-forward. You already use AI in your workflow and have opinions on where it helps and where it fails.

    Bonus

    • Working knowledge of business returns (S-corp, partnership, Schedule C, SMLLC).

    • Multi-state or residency-change work around equity and liquidity events.

    • A track record of automating parts of your own workflow.

This role is not a fit if
  • You want to stay at a large firm and specialize in one narrow area.

  • You want a predictable, filing-heavy season where the calendar tells you what to do.

  • You need heavy supervision. This role owns a book independently from day one.

  • You have never advised on equity compensation.

  • You see AI as a threat rather than the reason this job is interesting.

The starting salary for this position is between $137,400 - $161,600 USD. Candidate's location does not impact the posted salary range.

The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors including relevant skills, education, and experience. This position also includes equity in CoinTracker and benefits like medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
