About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Associate in Enterprise Customer Tax Utility as part of Chief Operating  Office. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform Tax form validation including W-9/W-8 forms, as well as other supporting documents
  • Process W-8IMY Intermediary Allocation, and Withholding Statements
  • Conduct Annual W-8 recertification or remediation
  • Communicate with account representatives to resolve withholding and/or reporting issues
  • Respond to audit requests
  • Maintain reporting obligations, quality standards and service level agreements
  • Perform surveillance by reviewing exception reports and perform periodic checks to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, as well as other established risk and control framework
  • Receive direction from manager and exercise independent judgment while developing basic knowledge of federal and state tax laws, rulings, regulations and judicial decisions affecting corporations
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, managers and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Corporate Tax or Accounting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and rules/regulations including; FATCA Chapter 3/4/61, CRS, 871m/305c, and 1099/1042-S reporting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office; intermediate to advanced
  • Knowledge of Tax software, such as Broadridge, CTI TFV, Onesource,1099PRO, and Sovos, considered a plus
  • Experience with Customer Information Reporting - W-9 and W-8 validation concepts, back-up withholding processes and year-end 1099 reporting routines.

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
  • Ability to provide and work from a home office
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening

      Work Schedule:

      • This position offers a hybrid work schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm or Monday- Friday 9:00am-6:00pm
