Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Support Specialist to join our team. This role is a unique combination of providing exceptional support by responding to customer tickets and conducting thorough tax research. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and a solid understanding of tax regulations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive solutions to customer issues related to tax matters.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research to resolve complex tax-related queries and provide detailed explanations to customers.
  • Stay updated with the latest tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent and accurate information is provided to customers.
  • Document and maintain records of customer interactions and tax research findings.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of support processes and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in customer support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using support ticketing systems and tax research tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tax software and support ticketing systems.
  • Familiarity with various tax jurisdictions and tax laws.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Taxation, Finance, data science or similar degree required
  • Obtained or actively pursuing one or more of the following: Juris Doctorate (J.D.), master’s in taxation, MBA, CMI or CPA certification (active or inactive) preferred.
  • O Series certification preferred
  • Two (2) plus years in a multi-jurisdictional environment with emphasis on Indirect Tax
  • Strong experience with research tools such as CCH, Lexis-Nexis, BNA, RIA, etc.
  • Industry or consulting experience a plus.
  • Experience with Vertex or other tax engines a plus
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $56,900.00 - $74,000.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
