As a Talent Acquisition Leader driving Vanguard’s hiring strategy, you’ll inspire a recruiting team that attracts the talent behind Vanguard’s long‑term investor success. You’ll translate Vanguard’s shared purpose into everyday talent acquisition practices while delivering a best‑in‑class experience for candidates and hiring leaders alike.

In this role, you’ll lead entry‑ and mid‑level hiring across your assigned division, partner closely with business leaders, and ensure recruiting resources are deployed effectively to meet changing business needs. People Leadership & Performance Management

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of recruiters, fostering a strong, collaborative, and high‑performance team culture.

  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, providing ongoing guidance, training, feedback, and motivation to support professional growth.

  • Hire, evaluate, and counsel team members in accordance with Vanguard’s performance management standards.

  • Set clear performance expectations, review results, and provide timely feedback aligned with established Vanguard policies and procedures.

  • Follow corporate performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and compensation‑related decisions.

Recruiting Strategy & Execution

  • Lead entry‑ and mid‑level recruitment for multiple divisions, ensuring hiring strategies are optimized, efficient, and aligned with business priorities.

  • Direct recruiting activities to ensure high‑quality candidate selection and a consistent, inclusive candidate experience.

  • Partner with business leaders to develop, present, and execute recruitment strategies that address current and future workforce needs.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring leaders on talent trends, market conditions, and recruiting best practices.

Resource & Capacity Management

  • Ensure effective coordination of recruiting resources with other Recruiting Managers and recruiting resourcing teams.

  • Leverage organizational resources to respond to routine and unplanned shifts in hiring volumes across divisions.

  • Ensure the effective use of contingent labor and manage the variable support model to maintain flexibility and efficiency.

  • Monitor recruiting capacity and workload distribution to optimize team performance and delivery.

Continuous Improvement & Market Insight

  • Develop and implement recruiting best practices that support Vanguard’s strategic goals and long‑term direction.

  • Evaluate external labor market conditions and internal turnover trends to recommend and implement changes to recruiting strategies.

  • Adapt recruiting approaches in response to evolving market conditions and business needs.

  • Participate in special projects and contribute to broader Global Talent Acquisition initiatives as assigned.

What It Takes
  • Five or more years of related professional experience, including at least three years of recruiting experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred.

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Strong knowledge of hiring best practices, workforce planning, and employer branding.

  • Experience managing recruiting operations, compliance, and onboarding processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop recruiting teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR analytics tools like Workday, Tableau, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Talent Neuron.

  • Ability to drive strategic recruiting initiatives and continuous process improvement.

  • Developing and delivering compelling presentations to senior leaders.

  • Confidently leading high‑impact discussions with business partners and executives.

Vanguard’s hybrid work model is designed to balance meaningful in‑person collaboration with flexibility, bringing teams together in the office Tuesday through Thursday while offering remote work options on Mondays and Fridays. Fully remote work is not available for this position.
