Job Description:

At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions' Technology department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software
  • Installs and configures systems and other software
  • Tests installed software for malfunction detection
  • Identifies and resolves business systems issues
  • Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
  • Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve systems
  • Monitors and tests system performance
  • Typically has full ownership of a process
  • May act as a procedural expert
  • May lead the work of junior level associates

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience

Essential / Technical Skills

  • Scripting: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including Glide APIs (GlideRecord, GlideAjax, etc.), scripting within ServiceNow, and debugging techniques.
  • Design, develop, and implement IT Asset Management solutions using ServiceNow, focusing on SAM and HAM modules.
  • Configuration: Deep understanding of ServiceNow configuration, including forms, workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI actions, and data imports.
  • Integration: Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, databases) using APIs (REST, SOAP).
  • Experience with additional ServiceNow modules like ITOM, CMDB, ITSM.
  • ITIL Framework: Familiarity with ITIL best practices, particularly related to Asset Management processes (discovery, reconciliation, provisioning, retirement).
  • Software Licensing: Understanding of software licensing models (per user, per core, subscription), vendor contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Hardware Lifecycle: Knowledge of hardware asset lifecycle stages (procurement, deployment, maintenance, disposal).
  • CMDB:  Familiarity with CIs, CI classes, and their relationship with Assets.
  • Experience developing ServiceNow APIs, ServiceNow workflows, Flow designer, Business scripts, Client Scripts, UI Scripts, UI Actions, UI Policies, Script Include, Security Rules.
  • Hands-on technical experience with the implementation of HAM and SAM
  • Experience implementing REST API integration with third party tools.
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of ITAM applications, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical support to stakeholders

Certification Preferences

  • ServiceNow Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified
  • ServiceNow Certification: Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management.
  • ServiceNow Certification: Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management
  • Other relevant certifications

Desired Experience

  • 4-6+ years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a focus on SAM/HAM.
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting ServiceNow SAM/HAM solutions.
  • Capabilities, configurations and best practices related to IT Asset Management within ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes related to Asset Management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate with stakeholders and document solutions.

This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.  This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week.  The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
