The Systems Analyst, Workday HCM is responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and support 
of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and related People technology platforms. This role 
plays a key part in optimizing People technology and driving digital transformation through 
Workday HCM. The role serves as a strategic partner to the People Team, Payroll and IT, ensuring 
optimal performance and continuous improvement of Workday HCM. This role is responsible for 
translating business needs into technical solutions, driving system enhancements, and supporting 
data-driven decision-making through advanced reporting and analytics. The Systems Analyst, 
Workday HCM role requires initiative and ownership, with responsibility for managing change and 
project activities both independently and collaboratively to meet organizational deadlines and 
objectives.
 

Qualifications
Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • None

Work Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in HR systems or ERP implementation.
  • 3+ years of experience in Workday HCM administration.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Workday HCM Certifications such as Workday Core HCM, Reporting, Integration, etc.
  • Familiarity with Adaptive Insights, Kainos and/or Qgenda is highly desirable 
  • Prior experience with system integrations and automation, preferably Workday (EIBs, XsLT, DT, Core Connectors, Studio) 
  • Previous experience in health care industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of HR concepts and processes.
  • Strong understanding of Workday calculated fields.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills. 
  • Experience with Workday HCM modules, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, 
  • Time Tracking, Learning, Performance Management and Talent Management.
  • Experience in developing custom reports, dashboards, and analytics
  • Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements and translating them to system configuration. 
  • Solid understanding of change management philosophies and Agile project management methodology and processes.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams and the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on system optimization.
  • Basic project management skills. Ability to scope work, develop a project plan/task, and keep stakeholders updated on timeline, progress and issues. 
  • This role involves interaction and collaboration with other departments and requires excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the overall architecture, scalability, and integrity of Workday HCM.
  • Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Workday HCM modules including investigating and resolving systemic issues and developing solutions 
  • Collaborate closely with People, Payroll and IT stakeholders to gather, document and validate business requirements for Workday HCM system enhancements and integrations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in deploying Workday functionality throughout the organization, including gathering requirements, configuration, testing, and training.
  • Responsible for supporting multiple Workday modules and features including but not limited to core HR, payroll, benefits, absence, time tracking, learning, integration, performance management and talent management.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including unit and user acceptance testing for Workday HCM software to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and analytics to support integrations and assess the health of the Workday HCM platform.
  • Develop and maintain Workday HCM documentation, including configuration guides, issue logs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Conduct user training sessions and create documentation to empower end-users to utilize Workday functionalities effectively.
  • Prepare for and manage Workday updates to ensure new functionalities are implemented correctly and in line with change management policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the People Team as needed to ensure all user-facing Workday communications related to change management are clear, timely, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Support Agile delivery processes using tools like JIRA or Zendesk for backlog management and sprint planning for pending tasks, features, bugs or requirements
  • Effectively manage backlog of tasks in JIRA and consistently provide updates, status, timeline, risk and/or challenges to appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Manage small to medium projects including but not limited to system enhancements, new implementations and ongoing process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for Workday HCM process improvements and system enhancements to enhance user experience and productivity.
  • Stay up to date on Workday updates and industry best practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting.
  • Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 20 lbs.) Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position.
  • Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between company locations, and out-of-town destinations as needed.
  • Safety Equipment: May require the use of safety equipment for infection prevention.
