Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional System Safety Professional Lead for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and other aerospace system development, acquisition, operations, and sustainment efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to support the US Air and Space Forces' acquisition and integration of next-generation technologies and capabilities.
Tell me about this job. This System Safety Professional will work with a highly skilled team providing system safety engineering support for the next-generation ICBM, the LGM-35A Sentinel, and includes integrating efforts across the ICBM enterprise and other DoD customers and stakeholders.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • US Citizenship.
  • Secret security clearance. Able to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • BS/MS in Safety, environmental eng, Bio-environmental eng, industrial hygiene, chemical eng, material eng, industrial eng, chemistry, physics or manufacturing. 12 yrs directly related experience (10 yrs with MS degree). At least 6 yrs progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership
  • Able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative, and organize and direct daily tasks with minimal supervision
  • Superior level safety professional providing technical leadership of safety related efforts
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written)
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Top Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge of / experience with Nuclear Surety, Cybersecurity, Program Protection, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882E
  • Knowledge/experience with performing System Safety Hazards Analysis
  • Knowledge/experience with performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis
  • Experience in risk management of risk factors identified in MIL-STD-882E
  • Experience with ICBM weapon systems, DoD and USAF system safety requirements, or military technology and technical data highly desired but not required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Atlassian Jira Project Management Software highly desired but not required
Active Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional Certification highly desired but not required
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
