Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned VP, Client Services to lead account management excellence for BGB’s new business, pitch, and growth-focused initiatives. This senior leader will serve as the operational and strategic backbone for pitch delivery, partnering with strategy and creative leadership to drive new business success, shape early client relationships, and ensure a seamless transition from pitch to onboarding.
The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare expertise, strong operational rigor, and exceptional relationship-building skills. They thrive in high-pressure, fast-moving environments and excel at orchestrating teams, aligning stakeholders, and driving clarity through complexity. This leader will represent Account Management during pitches and early engagements, championing operational readiness, excellence in delivery, and a solutions-oriented mindset that strengthens BGB’s reputation and ability to win.
Specific Responsibilities
New Business Leadership & Pitch Management
- Serve as the Account lead for new business opportunities, driving structure, clarity, and alignment across pitch teams.
- Partner with Business Development and strategic/creative leaders to shape pitch strategy, narrative flow, and delivery excellence.
- Oversee pitch logistics, timelines, and workflows to ensure seamless execution and exceptional presentation quality.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building
- Act as a senior client-facing representative during pitches, early-stage meetings, and onboarding conversations.
- Build strong rapport with prospective clients and establish trust that carries into long-term relationships.
- Translate client needs, challenges, and expectations into clear action plans for cross-functional teams.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Ensure alignment between strategic insight, creative vision, medical accuracy, and operational feasibility during pitches.
- Identify risks, anticipate client questions, and proactively shape solutions that demonstrate preparedness and partnership.
- Support pipeline planning, opportunity evaluation, and scoping in collaboration with Business Development and Agency Leadership.
Cross-Functional Team Management
- Lead and inspire pitch teams—including account, strategy, creative, digital, and project management—ensuring collaboration and cohesion.
- Serve as the operational integrator who ensures all disciplines are connected, informed, and working toward a unified pitch narrative.
- Oversee project flows and resource planning for pitch efforts.
Transition to Engagement
- Own the handoff from pitch to onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for new clients and internal teams.
- Partner with discipline leads to establish early workstreams, expectations, and operating rhythms for newly won business.
Thought Leadership & Growth Enablement
- Stay ahead of healthcare industry trends, competitive dynamics, and engagement best practices to inform pitch strategies.
- Support the evolution of BGB’s account management frameworks, tools, and processes to strengthen new business performance.
- Contribute to ongoing capability development and agency-wide operational effectiveness.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor account management talent, elevating operational discipline, communication skills, client leadership, and collaboration.
- Model the behaviors and leadership qualities expected of senior account leads across the agency.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience
- 12+ years in healthcare advertising or marketing, including significant experience leading client engagements and cross-functional teams.
- Experience driving new business pitches or leading early-stage client engagements is highly preferred.
Skills & Expertise
- Deep understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory considerations and market nuances.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong operational mindset with expertise in project management, workflow planning, and resource coordination.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage complexity, and drive teams toward clarity and action.
Leadership
- Proven ability to mentor teams, cultivate talent, and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Skilled at inspiring confidence and alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000 base salary + bonus eligibility
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
