We are seeking a talented, motivated and passionate sustainability professional to join our North American Sustainability Consulting team. The primary function of this role is to support the team in a variety of sustainability consulting related tasks. 

You will be able to contribute to helping our clients on their way to improved ESG performance and operate more sustainably. 

A typical week at Sphera may include: 

  • Support and lead the delivery of consulting projects in the areas of corporate sustainability and ESG strategy, including program development, setting goals and targets, and creating robust systems to capture data and monitor progress; 

  • Create carbon accounting and the creation of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, leveraging Sphera’s proprietary database of over 20,000 emissions factors; 

  • Support clients on voluntary and mandatory climate disclosures, including CSRD, California’s Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act (CCDAA), CDP, TCFD/ISSB, and GRI to name a few;  

  • Help develop robust decarbonization and net zero strategies for organizations and supply chains; 

  • Analyze corporate ESG data to uncover opportunities for improved performance and differentiation; 

  • Develop reports and presentations that clearly and effectively communicate the results, outcomes, and opportunities from client engagements   

  • Collaborating with various members of the global Sustainability Consulting team to drive value for our client base 

What you’ll bring to Sphera: 

  • Client-focused mentality with a bias toward action 

  • A positive attitude and desire to help companies succeed in an environmentally sustainable manner 

  • A collaborative spirit and proactive approach to problem solving 

  • The knowledge and skills you’ve developed with 3-5 years of previous experience in the sustainability and ESG space 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Ssciences, or related field. Master’s degree a plus 

  • Knowledge and passion for sustainability, ESG, life cycle thinking, and climate disclosure. 

  • Strong project management skills to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. 

  • Interest in and familiarity with GRI, CDP, CSRD, CCDAA and other corporate sustainability standards and disclosures a plus. 

  • Strong data skills and experience with Excel to validate, format, and transform data into information, 

  • Strong quantitative or technical background with an excellent aptitude for analytical thinking. Natural curiosity to investigate issues, conduct research, design solutions, and translate results into business practices. 

  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate issues, give presentations, and prepare formal written reports. 

  • Self-motivated and organized; able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on teams. 

  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. 

  • You must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to sponsor a visa for this position.

Pay:

$89,600.00 - $134,400.00 + Eligible for Variable Compensation Plan

Commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience
