Position Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Department: Quality
Reports To: Quality Manager

Position Overview:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at our dynamic tier 1 third-party supplier, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring supplier performance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the launch of high-quality automotive components. You will partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop, implement, and maintain robust quality systems that meet customer expectations and industry standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier qualification activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams on new product introductions, ensuring supplier readiness and capability.
  • Evaluate supplier processes through audits and performance reviews; implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Establish and manage testing procedures, calibrate equipment, and maintain technical measuring protocols.
  • Analyze supplier quality data, generate performance reports, and present insights to management.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Foster supplier development initiatives to improve quality performance and reduce costs.

Qualifications:Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Experience with tier 1 supplier operations is highly preferred.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Hands-on experience conducting supplier audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 standards).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and statistical software.
