This role integrates supplier quality management and product compliance responsibilities to ensure that suppliers, food raw materials, traded goods, and final products adhere to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The position is key to driving operational efficiency, compliance, and product development while fostering collaboration between cross-functional teams.
Job Description:
- Manage supplier and item databases, including creating, updating, and deactivating records in TraceGains and ERP system.
- Establish and maintain supplier connections in TraceGains, ensuring alignment with the organization's Supplier Approval Policy.
- Review supplier-submitted documentation for compliance with established company requirements.
- Lead hazard analysis for raw materials, utilizing supplier data and regulatory resources.
- Qualify new suppliers for food ingredients and products, ensuring alignment with company requirements.
- Perform supplier audits.
- Maintain ERP systems with accurate information on materials.
- Monitor supplier compliance with FDA, USDA, and Customs regulations.
- Communicate directly with suppliers, certifying agencies, regulatory inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
- Keep the organization informed on regulatory changes and industry developments.
- Assist in developing and renovating product formulas in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Prepare and review regulatory submissions and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and address their queries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, food Quality Management or related field.
- 3-5 years of food compliance, Food GMPs and supplier qualification related experience.
- Experience in introducing new products and managing registrations.
- PCQI certified
- Strong understanding of import regulations and regulatory agencies- FDA, USDA, Customs.
- Ability to interpret other countries food regulations.
- Knowledge and experience with TraceGains, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
- Confident working with foreign suppliers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business priorities.
- Self- Starter with the ability to prioritize and meet regulatory and customer deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with autonomy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
