Job Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Director, and Partner leading the service area, region, or industry, the Manager will be responsible for project, client, and advisory engagement management to deliver high-quality operational, technology, and strategic solutions. The manager will lead a team and collaborate with senior management to support client transformation initiatives and strategies for business growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Owns the development and architecture of solutions (either individually or working with others) to develop a clear statement of work based on client requirements and in-depth knowledge of standard applications and operational best practices.
  • Oversees multiple project plans, sets targets for milestones, and identifies and mitigates risk to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining alignment with client strategic objectives.
  • Develop team self-sufficiency through cross-training and knowledge sharing, and mentor and delegate work to ensure staff development and build advisory, facilitation, and consultative skillsets.
  • Manages knowledge transfer internally both up and down the team and cross-trains associates in various areas to support scalability of advisory services.
  • Develop methodologies, processes, procedures, provides quality control to enhance the team's best practice methodology and library including process improvement, change enablement, and operational excellence approaches.
  • Applies root cause analysis to assess and propose solutions or alternatives that are linked to client business needs and long-term organizational performance outcomes.
  • Actively participates with opportunity leaders or regional teams in business development activities by providing subject leadership and credibility on sales pursuits.
  • Oversees available capacity of consultants and works with others to maximize weekly production while balancing delivery, advisory work, and business development priorities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor' of Science Degree in Business or Technology
  • 7+ years' experience in a professional services firm or 10+ years of private industry experience focused on appropriate technical area or operational/advisory disciplines with 1+ years in professional services
  • Works towards obtaining additional appropriate advanced certifications in technology, advisory, or operational excellence disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training, support or consulting advisory experience.
  • Experience with compliance or professional standards associated with area of expertise desired.
  • Experience with process improvement, change management, facilitation, or strategic planning.
  • Experience advising clients beyond technical delivery, including operational or organizational recommendation.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to scope, plan, and budget for projects, while adeptly prioritizing and organizing work under pressure to meet budget and time deadlines.
  • Ability to lead teams, deliver results, and manage multiple projects concurrently, while remaining agile in responding to unexpected events or changing priorities.
  • Skilled in managing client expectations, escalating effectively, and ensuring client satisfaction in both delivery and advisory engagements..
  • Ability to pursue industry-aligned projects, drive industry growth through internal networks, and identify sales and cross-selling opportunities through various marketing channels, leveraging strong knowledge of firm's consulting offerings.
  • Excellent Written, Verbal and Presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business concepts to a diverse audience of stakeholders at all levels including executive and board-level audiences.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio and emerging collaboration or AI-enabled tools.
  • Works to build, maintain, and utilize individual relationships or networks with co-workers, clients, and other people who are, or might be, helpful in achieving work-related goals.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $117,000 to $158,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
