At Collibra, we help organizations trust, understand, and activate their data. As a Staff User Experience Designer, you’ll shape the UX of Collibra’s core product areas, tackling complex, enterprise workflows and bringing clarity to ambiguity.
This is a senior individual contributor role for a designer who leads through influence—driving UX architecture, strategic problem solving, and cross-functional alignment without people management.

Staff UX Designers at Collibra are responsible for

• Operating across multiple core product areas, balancing immediate business needs with long-term experience quality
• Leading high-impact design initiatives, including greenfield work, from problem framing through delivery
• Defining and evolving UX architecture, interaction models, and workflows for complex product areas
• Partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Content to align teams around clear UX direction
• Providing design leadership and guidance to teams that need additional expertise or support
• Shaping goals, success metrics, and outcomes tied to real customer and business impact
• Connecting experiences across core product areas to improve coherence, usability, and consistency
• Driving stronger cross-functional collaboration by navigating tradeoffs and conflicting priorities
• Applying a broad range of UX methods to reduce ambiguity and improve decision-making
• Mentoring and supporting other designers, contributing to higher overall design quality

You have

• 8–12+ years of experience in product or UX design for enterprise or technically complex products
• Deep experience designing complex software and influencing outcomes at scale
• A portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of impactful work, including UX architecture and strategic problem solving
• Mastery of multiple UX methods (e.g., information architecture, journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing)
• Strong working knowledge of large, modular products and the ability to contribute across product areas
• Proven ability to influence product direction without formal authority
• High proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma) in agile, cross-functional environments
• Because this role supports the US government, it is required that this candidate be a US citizen who resides on US soil
•  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required

You are
• A systems-minded designer who balances business impact with long-term experience quality
• Comfortable leading ambiguous problem spaces and creating clarity for teams
• Trusted by partners to tackle complex UX challenges
• Skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders around shared outcomes
• Curious about technology and how it shapes user needs
• Clear and persuasive in communicating design rationale and direction

Measures of success
Within your first month, you will:
  • Complete onboarding and develop a strong understanding of Collibra’s core product areas, customers, and data intelligence domain
  • Build early relationships with Product, Engineering, and Design partners
Within your third month, you will:
  • Lead a complex design initiative within a core product area, helping bring clarity to an ambiguous problem space
  • Establish clear UX direction through architecture, interaction models, or workflow improvements
  • Be recognized by partners as a trusted design contributor and thought partner
Within your sixth month, you will:
  • Deliver meaningful improvements across one or more core product areas
  • Strengthen cross-functional alignment and decision-making through your design leadership
  • Positively impact usability, adoption, or efficiency through measurable outcomes
  • Raise design quality through hands-on work and mentorship of other designers
