Staff Software Engineer

The Optum Now team is building a consumer-focused platform for healthcare that enable data-driven, digital experiences for our brands and partners. On this team you will work with modern technologies to integrate health information, coaching, marketplace, provider information into a consumer-focused web application that changes how users connect, explore, and interact with health content.

As a team member you will work with other engineering teams across the organization to design and implement integrations with the various products and technologies in the RVO Health suite. You’ll be responsible for retrieving and aggregating data from a variety of applications, and serving it to the consumer in a way that is useful, informative, and delightful.

A qualified candidate is a seasoned engineer with solid fullstack Javascript experience, advanced knowledge of modern frameworks, strong software integration experience and experience with defining technical solutions. As a Staff Engineer, you will develop application code hands-on, be a technical leader and mentor to other engineers on the team, and collaborate with stakeholders to define innovative digital solutions. 

Where You'll Be

To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on an in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our South Charlotte office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

• Design, modify, implement, and test software to support our product suite
• Develop new features, support, and maintain production systems and applications
• Work with a cross-functional product team to architect solutions that meet business requirements and adhere to technical standards
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor to other engineers
• Participate in rotational on-call schedules as needed
• Work with various technologies: Node.js, React, and cloud-hosted databases

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with full-stack JavaScript technologies
• Experience with React, NextJS, Node, Typescript
• Experience designing and building APIs for a variety of clients
• Experience with consumer-facing web applications
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, secure, reusable solutions in AWS
• Hungry, humble, smart, curious, and eager to learn

Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.

• Starting Salary: $138,450 - $180,000*
