Our Blended Work Environment:
At Loop, we’re intentional about the way we work so that we can do our best work. We call this our Blended Working Environment. We work from our HQ in Columbus, OH, or one of our Hub or Secluded locations, and are distributed throughout the United States, select Canadian provinces, and the United Kingdom. For this position, you are welcome to join us no matter where you’re located, within the United States and select Canadian provinces.

Our Tech Stack:
While we use certain core technologies at Loop, the exact tech stack each team uses varies. To give you an idea of what you might work with should you join us, here are some examples: Vue.js, Node.js, PHP/Laravel, AWS Lambda, MySQL, DynamoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Cloud, Serverless Framework. For this role, we’re eager to see experience in any of the following: Vue.js, React, Angular, Ember, etc.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and maintain the frontend architecture.
  • Own and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all frontend components, and drive its adoption throughout the organization.
  • Tackle complex performance challenges, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, diving into the codebase to solve deep-rooted problems and implement critical features.
  • Mentor product engineers, guiding them in best practices, architectural design, and problem-solving, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Drive the evolution of front-end development processes and tools, staying up-to-date with industry trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • You'll drive architectural decisions and technical strategy that span multiple teams, shaping organizational direction and engineering best practices beyond individual team deliverables.

Your experience:

  • A seasoned software engineer with a deep specialization in frontend architecture and performance, consistently delivering high-quality, impactful solutions.
  • 7+ years of experience with JavaScript and modern reactive libraries like React or Vue, with exposure to PHP/Laravel or similar backend frameworks.
  • A proactive and self-motivated learner, continuously exploring new technologies and best practices to enhance our platform.
  • An engineer with a strong sense of ownership, driving architectural decisions and ensuring the long-term health and scalability of our front end.
  • A technical leader and mentor, inspiring engineers and building trust with stakeholders through clear communication and technical expertise.
  • A proven architect with a deep understanding of design systems, performance optimization, and modular patterns.
  • An engineer who understands the product vision, collaborates with product managers and designers, and translates business requirements into robust solutions.
  • A pragmatic problem-solver, balancing the need for immediate solutions with long-term architectural considerations, and making data-driven decisions.

Loop Story

In a perfect world, Loop wouldn't exist. If we had our way, we'd live in a world where we're mindful about how we consume, we love every product we own, and we share values with the brands who create them. In reality, commerce isn't perfect and often breaks. Loop creates second chances.

We're starting by revolutionizing the post-purchase experience. We've taken one of the most fragile commerce interactions - returns - and turned it into something consumers actually love, and that deepens our connection to brands and products.

We take connection seriously on the inside, too. We're building a work experience that allows you to Be A Human First and prioritizes empathy and wellbeing. We view Loop as a special place in your career to shape the future of an industry and become a better person while doing it. You can grow faster here in a shorter amount of time - we'll give you space and trust you to fill it.
