The Engineer must bring “Everything as Code” mindset to their jobs.

Much of the work in the Team shall focus on optimizing existing software systems, building infrastructure, and reducing toil through automation. On the RE Team, you will have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale which are unique to the Employee Benefits Domain, while using your expertise in data structures, algorithms and large-scale system design.

Responsibilities

  • Find opportunities for continuous automation and optimizations for the Employee Benefits’ applications.

  • Design and automate the continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

  • Define strategies for Application Performance Monitoring, Resiliency and Chaos Engineering.

  • Assess and evaluate production releases to optimize the DORA metrics.

  • Perform fault injection experiments to uncover hidden bugs and monitor blind sports in the application and infrastructure.

  • Engage actively in system design, capacity planning and use case reviews.

Skills

  • Seven plus years hands on experience in application software development

  • Hands-on experience building microservices with Java 21 and Spring Framework (Spring Boot 3, Spring Web Flux, Spring Data or Spring JDBC, Spring AI).

  • Hands-on experience building Single Page Applications using Angular or ReactJS.

  • Hands-on experience with OAuth2, JWT, Docker, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS RDS and AWS Resiliency

  • Hands-on experience building Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines using any of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CloudFormation, Terraform and Ansible.

  • Hands-on experience using Observability tools

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
