The MongoDB Core Database+ Product Marketing team brings MongoDB products to life for developers, platform engineering and broader central infrastructure teams as well as their stakeholders, ensuring these target audiences can take advantage of what MongoDB offers.
In addition to shaping product messaging for MongoDB Atlas, Enterprise Advanced, and Community Edition products, the team is also responsible for driving the value proposition for Security, Observability, and DevOps audiences.
Collaboration with Analyst Relations, Competitive Intelligence, Developer Relations, GTM & Sales Enablement, Growth Marketing, Partner Marketing, Product Management, and Web Experience is common and frequent.
The Role
We are hiring for a Staff Product Marketing Manager who will be dedicated to positioning MongoDB with developers, platform engineering and broader infrastructure & operations (I&O) teams and enabling our partners in Marketing and Sales to succeed across all product-led GTM motions. This person will combine thought leadership, strategic and technical depth, messaging sophistication, and product marketing experience to drive MongoDB’s core database go-to-market activities targeting all identified personas.
In this role, you will be in an exciting position to capitalize on MongoDB’s popularity with enterprises while growing our mindshare to further establish MongoDB as the preferred database for building modern applications. Finally, you will work closely with an exceptional group of cross-functional peers across the rest of Marketing, Product Management, Competitive Intelligence, Partner Marketing, Analyst Relations, our extensive network of technology and go-to-market Partners, and more.
Position Expectations/Role Responsibilities/What You’ll Do...
- Strategize and Execute - Collaborate with our Marketing, Developer Relations, Product Management, Partner Marketing, and Sales Enablement teams to conceptualize, create, and execute the strategic and tactical plan to strengthen MongoDB’s position as a market leader and preferred database for enterprises building innovative applications
- Enable - Empower our Growth Marketing, Product-Led Growth, and Sales and Customer Success teams with the right positioning, messaging, and content that continues to build preference for MongoDB with developers
- Build - Messaging, GTM strategies, and content (e.g. decks, tutorials, webpages, white papers) that help prove to developers, platform engineering, and central infrastructure teams that MongoDB is an exceptional choice for their application and operational requirements
- Evangelize – Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert to define and drive awareness of MongoDB’s data platform with internal and external audiences
Qualifications/Requirements/We’re Looking For Someone With…
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product marketing, product management, or developer relations, particularly with B2B and SaaS products. Other roles and experiences related to developer, DevOps, SecOps, and Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) marketing may also be considered
- An understanding of the database market, development frameworks, and tools
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills combined with the ability to lead with a point of view and create impactful messaging and content under tight deadlines
- Ability to thrive in collaborative environments, effectively engaging with cross-functional teams and external partners while also being able to move the ball forward independently
- Critical thinking and thought leadership - an ability to distinguish between internal and external positioning, intent and reality in order to question the status quo rather than conform to conventional ideas.
- A low ego-to-talent ratio and collaborative spirit
- Location: North America, European Union or United Kingdom
Bonus Points If…
- You have a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- You have worked for a database or cloud provider previously
- You have experience of working across multiple domain technologies, including (but not limited to) DevOps, IT Operations, SecOps, Observability, Data Management and/or Data Analytics
- You have product management/marketing experience related to GenAI
- You have experience with mentorship and leading cross-functional teams

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. $104,000—$204,000 USD
