About us:
Foodsmart is the leading telenutrition and foodcare solution, backed by a robust network of Registered Dietitians. Our platform is designed to foster healthier food choices, drive lasting behavior change, and deliver long-term health outcomes. Through our highly personalized, digital platform, we guide our 2.2 million members—including those in employer-sponsored health plans, regional and national Medicaid managed care organizations, Medicare Advantage plans, and commercial insurers—on a tailored journey to eating well while saving time and money.

Foodsmart seamlessly integrates dietary assessments and nutrition counseling with online food ordering and cost-effective meal planning for the entire family, optimizing ingredients both at home and on the go. We partner with national and regional retailers across the U.S., many of whom accept SNAP/EBT, making healthier food more accessible. Additionally, we assist members with SNAP enrollment and management, providing tangible access to nutritious food.In 2024, Foodsmart secured a $200 million investment from TPG’s Rise Fund, which supports entrepreneurs dedicated to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This investment will help us expand our reach, particularly to low-income workers who are disproportionately affected by diet-related diseases.

At Foodsmart, our mission is to make nutritious food accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of economic status. We are committed to a set of core values that shape our culture and work environment:

Measured: We make data-driven, truth-seeking decisions.
Impactful: We are fueled by achieving our mission and vision.
Collaborative: We help each other be better and create a positive environment.
Hungry: We maintain a healthy growth mindset, seeking to overcome challenges with courage.
Joyful: We take joy in each other, our work, and the privilege of doing this work.

Whether you're a dietitian, a commercial leader, or a technologist, working at Foodsmart means being part of a team that is passionate, supportive, and driven by a shared purpose. Join us in transforming the way people access and enjoy healthy food.

About the role:
We’re hiring a Staff Product Manager to lead the technical product vision, development, and ongoing enhancement of our AI-powered Decision Engine—the intelligent orchestration layer that personalizes care journeys across assessments, care plans, clinical visits, behavior nudges, and food-as-medicine benefits.

This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, AI/ML systems, workflow automation, and healthcare delivery. You'll work closely with engineering, data science, design, and clinical teams to architect a robust and adaptive system that supports sellable programs like GLP-1, Maternal Health, and Chronic Conditions. The ideal candidate brings strong product expertise with hands-on experience building and scaling workflow engines, rule systems, and intelligent decision platforms.
This is a critical role that will shape the core intelligence layer of the Foodsmart platform.

You will

  • AI-Driven Decision Engine Ownership
  • Lead the design and evolution of the Decision Engine as the core orchestration layer that governs personalized care delivery at scale
  • Collaborate with engineering and data science to build hybrid decision systems that combine rule engines, ML predictions, and generative AI workflows (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, decision-tree agents)
  • Implement modular workflows, decision graphs, and care logic frameworks that can adapt to various clinical use cases, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Develop internal configuration tools that allow clinical operations and implementation teams to define and simulate care pathways without direct engineering involvement
  • Ensure all decision logic aligns with clinical protocols, care management standards, and billing requirements
  • Expand the engine’s scope to incorporate behavior nudges, care plan updates, and contextual recommendations using AI-driven insight

  • Product Development and Execution
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable product design and iterative delivery plans
  • Work closely with clinical operations and engineering to define schemas, logic states, input-output contracts, and observability pipelines for decision logic
  • Define and track key metrics such as decision accuracy, drop-off analysis, care plan adherence, and engine performance
  • Partner with implementation and enterprise teams to map client needs into configurable, scalable engine workflows
  • Oversee end-to-end system integrity, including testing frameworks, rule versioning, and fail-safe conditions for logic and AI outputs

  • Strategic Expansion and Platform Integration
  • Align engine design with long-term platform goals including AI-powered coaching, real-time care adjustment, and outcomes tracking
  • Lead integration of new models, workflows, or third-party components into the engine’s architecture
  • Collaborate with data and engineering teams to support value-based care models, program documentation standards, and emerging business models
  • Work cross-functionally to define how decision logic supports member outcomes, operational efficiency, and client ROI
  • Support future initiatives that apply AI to enhance the intelligence, adaptability, and personalization of Foodsmart’s care platform

You have

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on complex platform systems, intelligent workflows, or AI infrastructure, ideally within the healthcare industry
  • Proven success delivering systems that include rules engines, workflow orchestration, care coordination, or AI-powered decision systems
  • Experience designing or working with rules frameworks (e.g., Camunda, Drools, AWS Step Functions) or workflow engines for dynamic execution paths
  • Strong technical fluency and experience working with engineers and data scientists to model logic, build state machines, or implement AI/ML solutions in production
  • Comfortable translating ambiguous clinical or operational requirements into modular, testable product structures
  • Familiarity with care coordination, clinical decision support, and value-based care mechanisms is preferred
  • Clear communicator and systems thinker with a bias toward simplification and scalability

  • Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience working with AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, custom orchestration layers)
  • Exposure to prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or retrieval-augmented generation pipelines in real-world applications
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms for logic configuration and rules-based decision tools
  • Background in building or integrating clinical decision support systems, digital therapeutics, or care plan management tools

  • Why Join Us
  • At Foodsmart, you'll be building the core intelligence that drives our platform’s ability to deliver real-world, personalized healthcare at scale. This is a unique opportunity to apply your experience in AI systems, workflow design, and decision modeling to a mission that directly improves people’s health and lives. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative, and purpose-driven team. If you’re passionate about building powerful systems that blend clinical logic and AI to power scalable care, we’d love to talk.
