Cohesity is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Staff Product Manager to lead our enterprise product vision and strategy for the federal and public sectors. This role requires a deep understanding of compliance frameworks critical to government and highly regulated markets, including FedRAMP, NIST, FIPS, and GDPR.

You will serve as a trusted partner and domain expert, driving product innovation that balances strategic business goals with the unique security, reliability, and usability requirements of public sector customers.

HOW YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

  • Product Strategy and Vision: Define and champion the long-term product vision and strategy for our public sector offerings, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market opportunities.
  • Compliance Management: Act as the primary product lead for all compliance-related matters, guiding and managing the process for certifications such as FedRAMP, NIST, and FIPS. Partner with security, engineering, and legal teams to interpret and translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable product roadmaps.
  • Customer and Market Expertise: Conduct in-depth market research and customer discovery sessions with federal agencies and public sector entities. Maintain a deep understanding of the unique workflows, needs, and pain points of government users.
  • Roadmap and Prioritization: Develop and maintain a compelling product roadmap based on customer feedback, market analysis, and the evolving regulatory landscape. Prioritize features to balance new innovations with critical security and compliance needs.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert and evangelist for your products, aligning and motivating cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that effectively communicate the value of our products to the public sector.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analytics to inform product decisions, measure success, and optimize product performance.

WE’D LOVE TO TALK IF YOU HAVE SEVERAL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on enterprise SaaS for the federal or public sector.
  • Deep Federal & Public Sector domain expertise in procurement, sales cycles, and operational requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully navigating and managing complex compliance frameworks, such as FedRAMP authorization, NIST 800-series controls, FIPS 140-2/140-3 validation, and GDPR.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to engage in detailed discussions about system architecture, security controls, and technical trade-offs with engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a history of influencing executives, customers, and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with expertise in creating detailed user stories, managing backlogs, and leading product discovery.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to inform product strategy and measure results.
  • BS in Computer Science (or related field); M.S. or MBA preferred
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with other compliance frameworks such as CMMC, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
  • Experience with public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their government-specific offerings (e.g., GovCloud).
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
