Team description:

The Reddit Ads team is poised to innovate and grow rapidly like never before. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team that will shape how we monetize the Reddit platform and help connect Redditors with brands they love.

The Recommendations team is building automated advertising solutions for advertisers across the full funnel. Our vision is for advertisers to be able to bring us their budget and their creative and we do the rest. As we do that, we want to ensure advertisers and Reddit’s sales team has the capabilities and tools needed to confidently optimize their ad campaigns whether they care about reach and frequency on upper funnel or ROAS, post-installs, and purchases on lower funnel.

Role description:

We are seeking a product owner of our Ad Recommendations & Opti-Score charter. This is one of our most impactful areas and this role will be critical in shaping and driving the success of multiple strategic initiatives in Reddit Ads. You will develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the area. You will work closely with multiple teams across the ads platform (examples: ads manager, ads signals, ads targeting, ads retrieval, ads reporting, ads optimization, etc.) to build advertiser and campaign recommendations solutions that help both brand and performance advertisers succeed.  Furthermore, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, data science, sales, marketing, and external partners to build world-class products that deliver value for both advertisers and Reddit users.

As a member of a critical Ads team and an important product area impacting the full funnel, you will have significant ownership and responsibility in shaping Reddit’s overall ads automation and monetization strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & vision: Define and own the long-term vision and strategy for Recommendations (including Reddit’s version of Opti-Score), aligning it with broader business goals and market trends around ads recommendations in the industry.
  • Requirements gathering: Gather insights from advertisers, agencies, and sales to understand their pain points and needs. Translate these insights into innovative Recommendations products that make optimizing budgets and creative easy so advertisers and sales teams get more of what they want: reach, video views, clicks, conversions, and app installs.
  • Leadership: Be the owner and champion of Reddit’s Recommendations products. Define and own the opti-score that makes it easy for our advertisers and Sales team to set up performant campaigns across verticals. Drive energy and excitement for the product area within the organization and help all cross-functional teams deliver holistic solutions that make advertisers successful.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Build and scale Recommendations solutions that leverage Reddit’s unique data, driving efficiency and value for advertisers. Develop, prioritize, maintain, and execute the product roadmap across all Reddit teams, balancing short-term wins with long-term innovation.
  • Driving execution: Choose success metrics, set goals, own Opt-Score (e.g. Reddit’s Campaign and Account health scores), and create accountability within the company. Help our teams deliver against the roadmap.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, design, user research, sales, marketing, legal, and other teams to ensure smooth product development. Act as the glue that keeps stakeholders aligned and on track.
  • Communication: As a senior member of the Product Management team and the product owner of a business line, you’ll regularly communicate across functions and the entire ads team, including frequently presenting to C-level executives.
  • Market Analysis: Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and competitive landscape in the fast-moving world of ad recommendations to inform product decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7-8+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years within AdTech
  • End-to-end experience with building Recommendations advertising solutions (for ex: Google OptiScore)
  • Strong depth of understanding with Machine Learning, and experience driving strategy for ML based AdTech products
  • A track record of developing and championing product strategy and vision with quantifiable business impact
  • A compelling influencer with demonstrated experience working with Sales & Marketing teams, along with other cross functional teams to drive alignment, leveraging strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Deep experience with Machine Learning is a strong plus
  • Proven experience working on large initiatives, across teams, and on highly cross-functional products
