As a Staff SSD Field Application Engineer, you’ll be a key technical voice supporting OEM partners and driving successful SSD design‑ins. You will guide customers through architecture choices, resolve critical issues, and collaborate across Micron teams to ensure our SSD solutions land flawlessly in production.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute strategic SSD engagement plans with sales and business units
  • Meet regularly with Tier 1 OEM customers to identify new opportunities and support ongoing programs
  • Lead SSD issue resolution by coordinating with cross‑functional teams and delivering clear updates to customers
  • Provide architecture guidance, product recommendations, technical training, and validation support
  • Manage lab activities tied to design‑in, schematic reviews, validation, and system‑level testing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5 years experience in HDD/SSD applications, system validation, product design, solutions architecture, or related areas
  • Experience with datacenter/compute architecture, system design, test, and troubleshooting
  • Hands‑on integration experience with storage interfaces (SATA, NVMe, CXL), tools (FIO, IOMETER), and operating systems (Linux, KVM, ESXi)
  • Strong customer engagement, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to DRAM, CXL, HBM, or other memory technologies
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated technical innovation and deep troubleshooting capability
