The Problems You'll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the strategy and design of Carta's enterprise technology, ensuring it aligns with strategic goals and business requirements. You’ll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define architectural standards and evaluate new technologies, while acting as  the  bridge between high-level business strategy and the technical implementation of IT systems.

Specifically, in this role you will:

Strategic Planning & Vision

  • Define the long-term enterprise technology roadmap and vision, with a focus on how emerging technologies, especially AI, can enhance productivity and innovation.
  • You will evaluate existing systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend new technologies that support future business needs.

Architecture Design and Governance:

  • Design the structure of IT systems, networks, hardware, and software to ensure they are scalable, secure, and interoperable. This includes architecting the infrastructure required to support our enterprise AI strategy.
  • You will also own, establish and enforce a change advisory board and  standards and governance policies for system development, including the ethical and secure use of AI and other emerging technologies to ensure consistency across the organization.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders, from executive leadership to technical teams, translating complex technical concepts into business terms for executives and communicating the business vision and requirements to developers and engineers.
The Team You'll Work With

You'll be joining our Security organization, directly reporting to our Chief Information Security Officer. You will be part of a security-minded team that believes in progress over perfection and where both security culture and mindset are key. We focus on solving business problems while minimizing and managing risk exposure for Carta.

About You

  • You are ready and excited to step into a high-impact role and solve complex, large-scale challenges on day one.
  • Architectural Vision: You’ve led the design of large-scale, complex enterprise systems. You can articulate technical trade-offs, define long-term architectural roadmaps, and ensure technology choices are directly signed with business objectives.
  • Technical Leadership and Enablement: You’re passionate about elevating technical talent around you and have a track record of mentoring, establishing best practices, and improving the productivity and quality of work across multiple teams.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
