  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations for bank, AP, AR, credit cards, and prepaid accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Drive month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account clean-up.
  • Maintain and improve Brex transaction coding, ensuring all receipts are attached and properly categorized.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper approval workflows and documentation are followed.
  • Help build and maintain step-by-step documentation for all accounting processes as part of bringing the function in-house.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with audit preparation, external inquiries, and ad hoc financial tasks as needed.
  • Support systems integration and migration efforts, including potentially upgrading from QuickBooks to a new ERP system in the future.

What we're looking for
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting roles with strong exposure to AP, AR, and reconciliations.
  • CPA designation or working towards a designation
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Brex.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Comfortable learning and documenting new systems and workflows.

Experience:
  • Experience transitioning accounting functions from external firms to internal teams.
  • Familiarity with revenue and expense recognition specific to tech-enabled service or marketplace business models.
  • Experience working with SQL or collaborating with internal data teams and managing large datasets.
  • Exposure to tech or labor marketplace environments is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. AP/AR compliance is beneficial.

Benefits & Perks

  • In-person company off-sites
  • Medical, dental, & vision coverage
  • Flexible time off
  • WFH stipend to support your home office needs
