Job Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accounting records and systems for customer and corporate cash across LPL Financial Holdings Inc. and its subsidiaries. The position desires someone who can communicate well, and can interact daily with internal and external business partners.
The team is also focused on implementing process improvements to streamline and enhance efficiencies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and maintain the ability to remain detail-oriented while working in a fast pace environment. The ability to adapt, appropriately take initiative, and assume responsibility is essential for success.
Responsibilities:
Complete daily BETA and Oracle cash reconciliations
Complete monthly account reconciliations
Research outstanding items with the appropriate group for timely resolution
Prepare month-end journal entries, assist in close process and audit deliverables
Prepare deliverables for FOCUS and Regulatory Reporting
Assist with Escheatment process and deliverables
Prepare and assist with deliverables for Reserve Processes
Provide monthly and quarterly Flux analysis
Adhere to SOX compliance requirements
Review accuracy of Commission Disbursements Requests
Complete daily cash entries
Prepare check exceptions report for management review
Cash Mailbox administration
Request returned check copies and adjustments from banks
Provide support to various business units regarding cash accounts
Prepare daily settlement entries
Support the quarterly reviews and year-end audits, as well as internal audits
Work in a team environment, contributing to team goals and meeting obligations and commitments
Special projects and Ad Hoc requests as assigned

Requirements:
BA/BS degree in Accounting or related fields
Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience
Core Competencies:
Effective communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to effectively collaborate well across business functions
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task are essential
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and activities and adapt to change
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Basic understanding of internal controls
Preferences:
CPA license a plus
1 to 2 years of relevant experience a plus
Experience in public accounting and broker-dealers preferred
Excellent computer skills including intermediate Excel and Access proficiency
Experience working with Oracle and Excel Spreadsheet Server a plus

Pay Range:
$55,988-$93,313/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
