Weatherford have an excellent opportunity for a well experienced Sales Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa to join the Team in Luanda Angola.  The SSA Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and market share expansion across Weatherford's product and service lines throughout the Sub-Saharan Africa region, with a primary focus on Angola, Nigeria, Congo and neighboring countries. This strategic role will involve developing and implementing sales strategies, building strong client relationships with national and international oil companies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives across the SSA region.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at national oil companies (including Sonangol in Angola and NNPC in Nigeria) and international operators in the region.

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of technical and commercial proposals to clients.

  • Collaborate with product line managers and technical teams to develop customized solutions that address specific customer challenges.

  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify emerging opportunities and competitive threats.

  • Forecast sales activities and revenue achievements while creating detailed territory business plans.

  • Negotiate complex service agreements and contracts with clients.

  • Represent Weatherford at industry events, conferences, and trade shows throughout the region.

  • Mentor and develop junior sales team members to build a strong regional sales organization.

  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of sold services.

  • Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local content regulations and Weatherford's ethical standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in oil and gas industry sales, with at least 5 years in a management role.

  • Must be an Angolan or Nigerian national or holding Permanent Work Visas.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share in the oil and gas sector.

  • Strong understanding of oilfield services, drilling and completions operations, and production technologies.

  • Experience selling to both national and international oil companies in Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

  • Strong business acumen and financial analysis capabilities.

  • Fluency in English required, Portuguese language skills highly advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the SSA region (40% travel expected).

  • Experience with CRM systems and sales management tools.
