Overview

The Biologics Commercial team is directly responsible for customers primarily engaged in large molecule discovery through production. The Sr Systems Sales Manager will define and execute the sales strategy to grow the biologics business across the entire Waters portfolio, including both Waters and Wyatt products, for their District/Region.


This is a great opportunity to lead a team of Bio Account Managers while also getting to work for a company that is focused on delivering benefits to our customers, employees, community, and shareholders.  This role is to be based in North Carolina (preferred), Virginia or Delaware.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Bio Account Managers and Sales Specialists team in an assigned district to meet or exceed sales objectives while operating within budgets and costs.
  • Work with the Sales Leader to develop an annual sales plan that supports the sales target as well as the business objectives including the growth of new product lines and attacking target growth markets.
  • Ensure each territory develops methodology needed to achieve sales growth including lead generation and nurturing, key account penetration, customer support, technical seminars, demos, training, and penetration activities within territory.
  • Develop a growth strategy for their District / Region considering its historical sales, its sales potential and the profile of customers in the specific district / region.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the sales team through high-quality account visits, sales calls, one-on-one meetings, training, personal development programs, performance reviews, and objective setting.
  • Utilize business intelligence to understand business health, identify problem areas early, competitive threats, and optimize territory performance. Provide market intelligence, implement value selling, and leverage applications to identify potential customers.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of proposals, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads, and actions through CRM. Submit timely forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, and other related reports. Travel up to 50% for customer visits, sales meetings, training, and tradeshows.
Qualifications
  • BS/Masters/PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, or biochemistry) or a science-related field of study.
  • At least 5 years of direct sales experience, with management experience preferred. Proven track record in motivating and developing a sales team.
  • Strong technical background and application proficiency with Waters products, value positioning, competitive positioning, and core applications. Solid understanding of the biologics/biopharma market space.
  • Experience with CRM or other sales and customer platforms. Ability to maintain high-quality CRM data and utilize it for strategic planning and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, planning, and time management skills. Strong interpersonal and listening skills, with a mature disposition and positive attitude.
  • Committed and hardworking, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment. Strong sense of dedication and integrity in building long-term customer relationships.                       #LI-Remote
