Systems Administrator – Senior
Location: Remote.
Employment Type: Full-time.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000.
Program OverviewThe Systems Administrator – Senior ensures the stable operation of in-house computer systems, software, and network connections. This role involves planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing network software and communication links across multiple locations.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting end-user software and connectivity issues, analyzing system capacity and performance, applying security standards, and providing technical recommendations that align with organizational goals. The administrator will also direct the work of other system administrators to support day-to-day operations, optimize resources, and deliver user assistance.
Duties of a Systems Administrator – Senior may include but are not limited to:Installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) web servers.
Monitoring services, deploying applications, troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and maintaining security settings.
Implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure cybersecurity compliance.
Managing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates to support secure communication and data integrity.
Performing network troubleshooting, including firewall and connectivity issues.
Conducting capacity and performance analysis, making recommendations for configuration changes and upgrades.
Applying automated tools and scripts to increase system administration efficiency.
Developing system administration procedures, training, and assessments.
Providing local and remote maintenance support for servers and applications across multiple sites.
Performing vulnerability management, load balancing, and fault tolerance for application networking.
Maintaining detailed records of configurations, changes, and incident activities.
Collaborating with IT professionals and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing.
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software systems.
Advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and fault tolerance.
Experience with vulnerability management and cybersecurity practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills with network protocols, firewalls, and diagnostic tools.
Position Sensitivity: Critical Sensitive (Formerly IT-I or IT-1).
Investigation Requirement: Must possess a favorable Tier 5 (T5)/SSBI.
Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related).
