The Job At-A-Glance:
The Q2 Business Development team has a new career opportunity available for a Sr. Strategic Business Developer. This key individual will be responsible for business development efforts including managing partner evaluation processes, performing due-diligence, and working closely with the Business Development organization to forge strategic relationships with potential partners. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the financial services industry, direct participation in previous partner evaluation exercises, assisted in the development of business cases, and possess a strong analytical acumen with a financial analysis background.
A Typical Day:
Manage day to day activity related to the evaluation and selection of prospective partners
Collaborate with Q2 functional teams to help identify and prioritize prospective partners
Conduct research on market insights, business opportunities, industry trends, competing organizations, customer demographics, and new technologies
Interface with Vendor Management/Legal on partner regulatory and compliance requirements
Collaborate with Pricing Analysts to develop financial forecasts and model
Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
Support strategic partnership initiatives of all Lines of Business (LOBs)
Evaluate and define new opportunities including business case for inbound partnership leads
Work cross functionally with internal and external groups to solve problems and provide thought leadership
Play a leadership role in deal negotiation and partnership management
Stay knowledgeable of competitive and technological changes and innovations impacting all LOBs and the industry they operate in
Prepare and present updates on strategy development and progress to VP of Enterprise Business Development and the broader Business Development management team
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience B2B Sales experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
Ability to cultivate and manage business relationships with industry leading organizations that will accelerate Q2’s partner strategy and vision
Previous experience in banking or banking software industry preferred
Proficiency in using Microsoft tools – PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong influencing skills and ability to build relationships both internally and with partners
Previous experience building relationships with C-level executives critical
Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed
Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
