We are seeking a Sr Staff Technical Marketing Manager to drive the strategy and execution of our technical go-to-market (GTM) initiatives. In this role, you will be the bridge between Product, Marketing, and Sales, translating complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling, and differentiated messaging. You will develop technical content, competitive intelligence, and enablement materials that showcase the value of our solutions to security professionals, IT/Security decision-makers, and partners. Your work will shape how we position, launch, and evangelize our products in the market, influencing both demand generation and sales acceleration.
As a technical storyteller and strategist, you will create compelling demos, whitepapers, webinars, and technical guides that resonate with practitioners and decision-makers alike. You will lead competitive analysis, working closely with Product and Sales to refine our positioning and differentiation. You will also collaborate with product management to refine roadmaps,work with our sales engineers to create compelling demos, and enable our field teams to execute GTM strategies that drive adoption. You will amplify our technical partnerships by articulating the joint value of the solutions. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in cybersecurity, Identity governance access (IGA), identity and access management (IAM), along with a passion for crafting narratives that make complex technology accessible and valuable. This position is remote (open to candidates located in the US and Canada).
What we're looking for:
- Experience: 8+ years of Technical Marketing, Sales Engineering, Product Management, Product Marketing or related experience. Bachelor or Master Degree in Technology, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Technical expertise: Deep expertise in identity and access management (IAM), MDM, authorization, security best practices, and cloud environments.
- Customer knowledge: Ability to identify customer use-cases and translate them into compelling technical content, and demos.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Competitive intelligence: Experience with competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, and positioning against competitors.
- Technology Partnerships: Proven ability to nurture technical partnerships and engage with technical teams to create reference architectures that drive solution adoption.
- Technical Content: Background in developing detailed technical collateral preferably with a security and identity focus
- Certifications: While not required, security certifications and compliance related qualifications are an asset.

- Create strong technical content: Develop and maintain technical marketing materials, including presentations, workshops, demos, and proof-of-concept projects that showcase the value of 1Password solution use cases. Create reference architectures for various deployment scenarios using 1Password solutions, including technology partnerships.
- Create delightful demo experiences: Craft and build product experiences and demos that highlight integrated use cases across our products.
- Conduct in-depth competitive analysis: Conduct technical competitive analysis, including benchmarking and identifying gaps, to influence product development and support go-to-market strategies.
- Be a spokesperson: Support industry events, speaking engagements, and training sessions to educate and engage with customers and partners.
- Provide technical insights: Act as a conduit for customer and market feedback, providing valuable insights to Product Management and R&D teams to enhance offerings.Evaluate usability, performance, and competitive positioning of 1Password Extended Access Management, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Drive thought leadership: Coordinate with internal PR and external media on the publication and promotion of technical marketing content.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $172,000 USD and $232,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $158,000 CAD and $214,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
