What You’ll Be Doing:

 

Lilly is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Engineer to play a pivotal role in building transformative software based AI products across the entire Lilly value chain: drug discovery, research, manufacturing, go-to-market, and general knowledge work. As part of the SPE organization, you will provide technical leadership and contribution to cutting-edge AI products.

 

How You’ll Succeed:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative and delivery-oriented environment.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of AI  products, with a focus on scalability and performance.

  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, researchers, and business stakeholders

 

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 10+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python, JS, Go and experience with Kubernetes

  • 5+ years of software engineering leadership experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects. 

 

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements in the life sciences and AI domains. 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Proficiency in Python with understanding of async, streaming and other concepts.  

  • Experience in the life sciences or regulated industries is highly preferred. 

  • Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, and Large Language Models is a plus. 

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$135,000 - $213,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
