Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Operations (AI Ops) team. This role is designed for a senior technologist who thrives in hands‑on engineering work and enjoys applying AI to improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability across enterprise technology platforms.

The AI Ops team focuses on applying and operating AI capabilities in real‑world environments, ensuring AI solutions are reliable, secure, measurable, and maintainable. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, cloud platforms, and enterprise operations, helping integrate AI into systems that support day‑to‑day business and technology efforts.

Your Responsibilities

  • AI-Enabled System Engineering: Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled systems and services that support safe and reliable AI usage across the enterprise.
  • Platform & Workflow Integration: Work directly with engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing platforms and workflows.
  • Shared Services & Infrastructure: Build and maintain shared infrastructure (API’s, pipelines, tooling) required for AI Operations.
  • Observability & Operational Excellence: Implement monitoring, logging, and metrics to track AI system usage, performance, and operational health.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with our AI innovation, security, infrastructure, and platform teams to ensure production readiness and enterprise alignment.
  • Standards & Operational Playbooks: Contribute to standards, patterns, and runbooks that ensure consistent implementation of AI capabilities.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required or 5+ years of professional software development experience with senior-level technical ownership
  • Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Strong proficiency in an object-oriented programming language, full-stack experience preferred.
  • Hands on experience with cloud infrastructure, AWS being preferred.
  • Hands on experience with AI development and integration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tooling such Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
  • Strong understanding of system design and best practices

Your Team

This is a senior level individual contributor role that will report to the Manager, AI Operations You will work with a small but focused team to operationalize and enable the deployment and adoption of AI technologies across the organization.
